HANK QUEEN

Hank QueenRaised in West Virginia, Hank received his degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Purdue University.  He subsequently studied business at Columbia University, and computer science at Georgia Tech.

Before joining the Axelrod Group, Hank spent 30 years at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, in Seattle Washington.  As vice president of engineering and manufacturing he led the creation and integration of a new organization of more than 40,000 people from the engineering, manufacturing and quality functions.  With the goal of full integration of the airplane design and building process his team achieved breakthrough improvements in productivity and morale. This work was done in partnership with the union.

Management and development of more than 200 executives, with responsibility for the identification, development and selection of key executives was also an important part of responsibilities.  In addition, Hank was created a diversity council within BCA, chartered to educate people on the power of a diverse workforce, and to foster the career growth of women and minorities.  Hank strongly believes that a company can never be stronger than its employees, and that outstanding business performance begins and ends with exceptional leaders supporting the needs of all employees.

Hank received a number awards and recognitions during his career at Boeing, including being named a Fellow in the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Partnership for Safety award from the Federal Aviation Administration, Outstanding Aerospace Engineer and Distinguished Engineering Alumnus awards from Purdue University, and Global Diversity Change Agent award.
